2Who is responsible for your information
Quilloryn operates this website (the "controller" or "we"). There is no registered office or data protection officer published at the time of writing.
For any privacy question, access request or deletion request, use the contact form and choose the privacy topic. Please do not include sensitive identifiers in your message.
3Information we collect
The table describes the data used by the currently implemented features. Server-stored data is distinguished from information that stays in your browser.
| Category | Examples | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Saved formulas | Formula name, expression, optional description and tags | Entered by you and saved in a browser workspace |
| Workspace reference | A random string generated in your browser | Created when you first save a formula |
| Contact message | Chosen topic; optional name; optional reply address; message text | Submitted by you through the contact form |
| Voice content | Microphone audio while voice input is active; the text your browser recognises | Captured by your browser after you allow the microphone |
| Device phrase memory | Phrases the voice feature understood and the tool each opened | Stored locally in your browser |
| Board content | Chalk strokes and typed notes on the Calculator blackboard | Stored locally in your browser |
| Connection details | IP address, browser, device, time of request (server logs) | Generated automatically when the site is visited |
| Advertising and analytics | Cookie or similar identifiers, pages viewed, approximate location derived from the request, device and browser type, ad interaction | Collected automatically when advertising, measurement or analytics technologies run |
| Voice region signal | A country code from a configured trusted hosting gateway, used only to decide whether optional voice input is available | Evaluated per request for the voice feature. It is not stored, it is not used to hide this policy, and it is not precise GPS location. |
| Privacy preference | Opt-out flag, random receipt identifier, source and timestamps | Remember an explicit opt-out or Global Privacy Control; no name, email, IP or country is stored with the receipt. |
| Reference selections | The currency, asset, economy or measure you select in a tool | Entered by you in the tool |
Please avoid putting passwords, payment details, health information or other sensitive personal data into formulas, board notes or messages.
4How and why we use information
The table links each purpose to the data it uses. Applicable legal bases and rights are explained in the GDPR and CCPA sections of this policy.
| Purpose | What is used |
|---|---|
| Provide the tool you asked for | Your expression, values or reference selection |
| Save, show, export or remove formulas | Saved formula fields and the workspace reference |
| Answer your message | Contact fields |
| Operate and protect the site | Server log data; transient rate-limiting keys |
| Optional voice input | Microphone audio and recognition text |
| Voice availability by region | Country signal for the current request |
| Show and measure advertisements and other revenue-generating content | Advertising and analytics identifiers, pages viewed, approximate location, device type |
| Understand how the site is used | Analytics events, cookies and similar technologies |
Where the law requires a stated legal basis for each purpose, the bases are listed in the GDPR section below, with the CCPA purposes in its own section.
5Voice input and microphone audio
Voice input on the Quilloryn calculators page is entirely optional. It begins only when you press the voice button, and your browser asks for microphone permission before any audio is captured. Every tool works without voice.
Voice recognition uses only your browser’s Web Speech API (SpeechRecognition or webkitSpeechRecognition). On Android phones and tablets, the supported browser is Chrome with Google Mobile Services (GMS) and the device’s Google speech recognition service enabled. On iPhone and iPad, this site supports voice input only in Safari, using Apple’s system Siri speech-to-text technology. The browser or operating-system provider may process audio on its servers under its own terms; native technology does not guarantee offline or on-device processing. Where an explicitly supported browser-managed local language pack is available and selected, processing is required to stay on-device.
On this site's side we never receive or store microphone audio. Audio is released as soon as the utterance is transcribed, and only the recognised text is used.
Voice availability is determined using the country or region verified by the configured hosting edge or signed gateway. Browser language, timezone, cookies, query parameters and user-selected settings cannot establish location or bypass regional restrictions. If location cannot be verified, voice input remains unavailable. A local-only rule enables voice only when the Web Speech API can honor that requirement; it never switches to remote processing automatically.
If a voice command is understood, this browser remembers the phrase and the tool it opened — including a later hypothesis that corrected a mis-recognition — so a follow-up such as “and 80” works. No audio is kept. Clear it any time with “Forget learned phrases” on the voice card, or by clearing site data in your browser.
Device and browser characteristics (device type, operating system, browser, whether speech and microphone APIs exist) are read locally to choose that path. This site does not send them to its server.
After browser speech recognition returns text, the site interprets that text as a calculator command. An optional small TensorFlow.js intent model may suggest the closest tool when a command is not understood; it receives recognised words, not audio, and you decide whether to open the suggestion.
6On-device personalisation and predictive input
Calculators, converters and the contact form use small machine-learning models that run entirely in your browser. They suggest the next part of an expression, open the unit and currency converters on the choices you make most often at that time of day, suggest the next word in the contact message, and suggest a contact topic.
To adapt, this browser stores a short local history: expressions you calculated, which unit or currency pair you converted, the hour of day and weekday/weekend, the tool you used just before, and voice phrases that led to a tool. Trained model weights are cached in this browser's IndexedDB. Contact messages are never stored or used for learning.
None of this is sent to our servers or shared, and it is not tied to an account. You can erase it at any time with “Forget what the models learned” in Manage saved formulas below, with “Forget learned phrases” on the voice card, or by clearing site data in your browser. Every tool works the same without it.
7Advertising, analytics and cookies
Quilloryn may display advertisements, sponsored placements, affiliate modules, paid placements or other revenue-generating content. Those features help keep the calculators available.
Quilloryn may use data analytics and measurement technologies to understand how the site is used, to improve it, and to deliver or measure advertising. Partners that provide advertising, measurement or analytics may receive information such as pages viewed, cookie or similar identifiers, approximate location derived from the request, and device or browser type.
Cookies and similar technologies may be used for these purposes. Some are set by us; others may be set by advertising, measurement or analytics partners. You can also use your browser controls to block or delete cookies. Blocking cookies may affect how some features work.
A strictly necessary privacy-choice cookie may remember an opt-out and a random receipt reference for up to one year. It stores no name, email, IP address or browsing history. Advertising and analytics cookies, where used, are separate from that privacy-choice cookie.
8Cookies, local storage and similar technologies
Quilloryn may set or allow cookies and similar technologies for advertising, analytics, measurement and essential site operation. An essential privacy-choice cookie may remember a restrictive opt-out and a random receipt reference for up to one year. It stores no name, email, IP address or browsing history.
Browser storage holds the random saved-formula workspace reference, remembered voice phrases and blackboard strokes/notes. The last voice command uses session storage. Saved formulas themselves are stored in the server database. Clearing browser storage does not delete server-side formulas; use the controls below before disconnecting your workspace.
Your browser's speech service may set its own storage or use its own account state. Advertising, measurement or analytics partners may also set their own cookies under their own terms.
10Who receives information
The following categories of recipient may receive information as needed:
- The hosting and infrastructure provider that runs this site — IP address and request details in ordinary server logs, needed to deliver the site and protect it.
- Advertising, measurement and analytics partners — cookie or similar identifiers, pages viewed, approximate location derived from the request, and device or browser type, used to show, measure or improve advertisements and to understand site use.
- Reference-data providers that supply figures when a tool requests them: Frankfurter (European Central Bank reference rates), CoinGecko (digital-asset prices) and the World Bank (economic indicators). Each request carries only the selected parameters (for example `USD/EUR` or an indicator code) — never your workspace, saved formulas or message.
- The browser vendor's speech service, when your browser uses it for voice input — microphone audio, under that vendor's terms and only while voice input is active.
- A bot-check provider (Cloudflare Turnstile) if it is enabled for the contact form; when it is not configured, no check and no third-party script is loaded.
- Authorities or advisers, where disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights and safety.
11Transfers across borders
Information may be processed in a country different from yours, because the hosting provider, the reference-data providers or a browser vendor operate internationally. Where a transfer needs a safeguard under applicable law, appropriate safeguards are intended to be used (for example adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses). You may ask about the relevant safeguards through the contact form.
12How long we keep information
- Saved formulas: until you delete them or ask us to delete them. They do not expire automatically.
- Contact messages: the application has no automatic expiry. You may request deletion through the privacy contact route, subject to lawful exceptions; the operator must review retention for enquiries and follow-up.
- Infrastructure log retention is controlled by the hosting provider; this application does not set a fixed log-retention period. Contact us for the applicable deployment details.
- Browser-held workspace references, voice phrases and board notes: until cleared in the relevant feature or browser storage. The formula controls below manage server-side formulas, not all browser-held data.
- Privacy opt-out cookies expire after one year. Anonymous server receipts carry a matching one-year expiry and are removed on the next preference-save operation after expiry. No IP address or location is saved with them.
- The transient rate-limit counter for the contact form is held in server memory only and resets when the service restarts.
13Selling, sharing and targeted advertising
Quilloryn may share personal information with advertising, measurement and analytics partners in ways that some privacy laws treat as a “sale” or “share,” including for cross-context behavioral advertising. Our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page explains those choices. Browser controls may be available on that page. We honor Global Privacy Control when received. You can also contact us about a sale or sharing request. No account is required.
14Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect information against unauthorised access, loss or misuse — for example by limiting what the public can submit, validating input and keeping the public surface small. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
A workspace reference is a convenience, not a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to read or delete the formulas associated with it.
15Children
Quilloryn is a general-audience tool. It is not directed at children under 13 (and under 16 where a higher age applies for consent), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. We do not ask for age.
If you believe a child has submitted personal information through a formula, a board note or a message, use the contact form so it can be reviewed and removed.
16Automated decisions and profiling
Quilloryn does not use personal information to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about a person. Optional voice recognition turns speech into text; it does not profile you, and nothing is scored, ranked or used to infer anything about you.
17Changes to this policy
This policy is reviewed when the site's information practices change. The version and date at the top identify the current text; material changes will be indicated on the site where appropriate.
Your rights under the GDPR
Where the EU GDPR or UK GDPR applies to the processing described here, this section forms part of the same Privacy Policy. Quilloryn is the service name used for privacy enquiries; contact us through the privacy topic for the operator’s details and any applicable representative or data-protection contact.

| Saving and managing your formulas (optional feature) | Art. 6(1)(b)/(f) — your request, and legitimate interest in operating the requested feature |
| Answering your contact message | Art. 6(1)(f) — legitimate interest in responding to you, plus Art. 6(1)(b) for what you ask |
| Security, availability and abuse protection of the site | Art. 6(1)(f) — legitimate interest; Art. 6(1)(c) where a duty of law applies |
| Optional voice input | Art. 6(1)(a) — consent, given by pressing the voice button and allowing the microphone |
| Advertising, measurement and other revenue-generating content | Art. 6(1)(a) — consent where required; Art. 6(1)(f) — legitimate interests in funding and improving the service where permitted |
| Analytics about how the site is used | Art. 6(1)(a) — consent where required; Art. 6(1)(f) — legitimate interests in understanding and improving the service where permitted |
What the GDPR gives you
- Right of access. ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you — for example, your saved formulas or any contact message.
- Right to rectification. ask us to correct information you have provided that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Right to erasure. ask us to delete your information, subject to legal exceptions (the self-service controls on this page already delete saved formulas).
- Right to restriction and objection. ask that we limit, or stop, certain processing where the legal conditions are met.
- Right to data portability. request your saved formulas as structured data; the export control below provides them in JSON.
- Right to withdraw consent. consent for optional processing can be withdrawn at any time by refusing the microphone prompt or clearing site data.
- Right to lodge a complaint. you may complain to the data-protection authority of your member state.
Transfers and safeguards
Where information is processed outside the EEA — for example by the hosting provider or a reference-data provider — and the law requires a transfer safeguard, a valid transfer mechanism must apply. This policy does not certify a specific provider or contractual arrangement. Ask through the contact form for the mechanism relevant to your information.
Requests under this section: use the contact form, topic “Privacy or my saved formulas”. We verify a request where necessary. Applicable GDPR requests generally require a response within one month; a permitted extension of up to two further months requires notice and reasons within that initial month. You may complain to the competent EEA authority or the UK Information Commissioner.
California — CCPA / CPRA
This section forms part of this Privacy Policy. Where the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, applies to our processing, California residents have the rights described below, subject to the law’s scope and exceptions. The categories below describe the site’s current data practices; they do not claim that we collect recordings that remain with your browser.
Information, sources and purposes
| Category | Source and examples | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Identifiers | Optional contact name and email; a random saved-formula workspace reference and opt-out receipt; connection IP processed by infrastructure. | Answer messages, provide requested storage, remember privacy choices and protect the service. |
| Electronic content and request activity | Formulas and messages you choose to submit; ordinary connection/request details handled by hosting systems. | Operate the requested tools, handle enquiries and maintain security. |
| Internet and advertising activity | Pages viewed, cookie or similar identifiers, approximate location derived from the request, device and browser type, and ad interaction. | Deliver, measure and improve advertisements and other revenue-generating content; understand how the site is used. |
| Browser-only information | Blackboard strokes/notes and voice phrase memory remain on your device. Microphone audio is handled by your chosen browser recognition path, not received or stored by our server. | Optional drawing, notes and speech input. A browser-managed speech service may process audio under its own terms. |
The recipients and retention sections above explain hosting, reference-data requests, optional bot checks and browser processing. Public reference APIs receive tool selections from our server, not your formula workspace or contact message. Those requests do not by themselves establish a contractual service-provider relationship.
Sale, sharing and your opt-out
Quilloryn may share personal information with advertising, measurement and analytics partners in ways that the CCPA treats as a sale or as sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can record a choice on the Do Not Sell or Share page when those browser controls are shown, and we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) when received. You can also contact us about a sale or sharing request.
The choice covers both sale and sharing. No account or identity verification is required to use the contact form or, where shown, the browser controls. A received GPC signal applies without an extra confirmation step.
Other California rights
- Request access to or knowledge of personal information, including relevant categories, sources, purposes and disclosures.
- Request deletion or correction, subject to the exceptions and verification rules that apply to those requests.
- Opt out of sale/sharing and, where applicable, limit use or disclosure of sensitive personal information beyond permitted purposes.
- Exercise applicable rights without unlawful discrimination, including through an authorized agent where the law permits.
Use the saved-formula controls for self-service export or deletion. For other access, correction, deletion or agent requests, use the contact form and select the privacy topic. We may need information to locate records and verify those requests. This verification does not apply to the browser opt-out.
Where CCPA deadlines apply, access, correction and deletion requests generally receive a response within 45 days; a permitted extension of up to a further 45 days requires notice. An opt-out must be honored as soon as feasibly possible and within the applicable 15-business-day limit—not held for that 45-day process. The browser control here records the restrictive choice immediately on success.
The blue checkmark/X is the official California Opt-Out Icon. It supplements, rather than replaces, the labeled link. Reference: California Attorney General icon guidance and CPPA regulations (§§ 7013, 7015, 7025–7026).
Brazil, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Japan and India
Most websites publish one privacy policy that anyone can open, then spell out extra rights in that same document. Regulators expect the notice to be available — Australia’s APP 1 says so expressly — rather than revealed only when a network header looks like a particular country. Quilloryn follows that practice. The clauses below are part of this Privacy Policy. They are not a separate, location-locked supplement, and reading them does not require a VPN check, a country menu, or device location.
Which statute applies depends on the law and the processing, not on the IP address of this visit. Travelling or using a VPN does not remove a right, and it does not by itself create one. Use the contact form and choose the privacy topic. We do not ask for precise GPS location to honour a request.
Brazil
Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD)
Where the LGPD applies, you may ask us to confirm whether we process personal data about you and to provide access. You may also ask for correction of incomplete, inaccurate or outdated data, and — where the statutory conditions are met — anonymization, blocking or deletion of unnecessary, excessive or unlawfully processed data, information about sharing, portability, and withdrawal of consent. A simplified confirmation is due immediately where the LGPD requires it; a complete declaration is due within the period the statute sets (generally 15 days).
We do not charge a fee to exercise LGPD rights. Calculator results are not used to make significant decisions about you. If a request is unresolved, you may petition the Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados (ANPD). Mandatory Brazilian law takes precedence over a conflicting sentence in this policy.
Canada
PIPEDA and applicable provincial laws
Where the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act applies, we identify the purposes of collection in this policy, collect only what those purposes need, and keep a contact route for privacy questions. You may ask whether we hold personal information about you, request access, and challenge its accuracy. Where PIPEDA’s access timeline applies, we aim to respond within 30 days and will explain any legally permitted extension. Provincial laws, including Québec’s Law 25 and the private-sector laws of Alberta and British Columbia, may add different consent, notice or complaint rules.
Hosting and reference-data providers may process information outside Canada, where it can be subject to foreign law. That fact does not remove your right to ask us about a disclosure. Raise a concern with us first; you may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the relevant provincial commissioner. Being outside Canada when you read this page does not prevent a request.
Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada — access rights
Australia
Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles
Australian Privacy Principle 1 expects a clearly expressed, up-to-date privacy policy that people can actually find. This page is that policy: it is public, and it is not shown or hidden according to an IP address. Where the APPs apply, you may request access to personal information we hold about you and correction of information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. We may need to confirm we are talking about the right record. A refusal, where the law allows one, will be explained together with the complaint route.
Please contact us before escalating a concern to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. The OAIC generally expects the organisation to have had a chance to respond, often about 30 days. If personal information is disclosed overseas, APP 8 applies unless an exception does — using a calculator is not consent to waive that principle.
Singapore
Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA)
Where the PDPA applies, this policy is the notice of purposes. Consent, when it is required, relates to those purposes. You may withdraw consent with reasonable notice; we will explain the consequences, and we will stop the affected processing unless the law permits or requires it to continue. Optional microphone permission is not a condition of using the calculators.
Subject to PDPA exceptions, you may request access to personal data in our possession or under our control, information about how it was used or disclosed in the past year, and correction of an error or omission. We handle requests as the PDPA requires, including telling you when a response will take longer than 30 days. Personal data is not kept once the purpose has ended and retention is no longer necessary. Transfers outside Singapore follow the PDPA’s transfer limitation. You may also seek assistance from the Personal Data Protection Commission.
Japan
Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI)
Where the APPI applies, the purposes of use are the ones named in this policy: delivering the tool you asked for, storing a formula you chose to save, answering a message, and protecting the site. We do not use a calculator session as permission for a different purpose. Where the statutory conditions are met, you may request disclosure of retained personal data, correction, addition or deletion, cessation of use or erasure, and cessation of third-party provision.
Providing personal data to a third party in a foreign country requires the APPI’s consent or information steps unless a lawful exception applies. Contact us for the details that apply to your information. Unresolved concerns may be raised with the Personal Information Protection Commission. A later amendment to the APPI is not described here as already in force.
India
Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 and the DPDP Rules
India’s DPDP Act and the DPDP Rules notified in November 2025 are being brought into force in phases, with many substantive duties running through an implementation period toward May 2027. This page does not pretend that every DPDP provision is already binding. As each provision commences and covers the processing, a Data Principal may request a summary of personal data and processing, correction, completion, updating or erasure, nomination of another person in the circumstances the law provides, and use of the grievance process.
The contact form’s privacy topic is the grievance route. We will say what is needed to find the relevant record and respond under the rules that have commenced. Where the law requires the grievance process to be used before approaching the Data Protection Board, that sequence applies. When the provisions on children are in force, a child is generally a person under 18, and the parental-consent and processing limits apply unless an exception does. Notice of purposes is this public policy — it is not locked to an Indian IP address, and it is available in English.

Personalisation on this device
Small machine-learning models run in your browser to suggest the next part of an expression, open the converters on the units you use most, and recognise the wording of your voice commands. What they learn (checking…) is stored only in this browser and is never sent to us.
